The ice boom is a rope 12 inches in diameter and 3000 feet in length. It is marked by two yellow cautionary buoys, 24 inch yellow floats attached to the line. The ice boom is floating on the surface. The second ice boom runs from Pigeon Island to Burnt Point. The ice boom is a rope 2 and 1/4 inches in diameter and is 800 feet in length. The line is marked with 16 inch yellow floats through the line. The ice boom is floating on the surface. Two yellow 0.8 meter conical buoys mark a yoke in the middle of each ice boom for small vessel passage. These yokes will be removed when the bay begins to freeze over. Caution.
